Greatest Ever Ranger John Greig made an emotional return to Ibrox Stadium on Tuesday but the Light Blues legend took time out to wish Glasgow City Ladies well in their forthcoming Champions League tie against PSG.
Greig joined the new Rangers Board and a host of club legends, including Walter Smith, for the Queen of the South match but he was quick to back Eddie Wolecki Black’s Glasgow City side in their quarter final tie a week on Sunday.
John said: “It was great to be back at Ibrox last night and it is my pleasure to promote Glasgow City in their European tie.
“It should be a tremendous afternoon at the Excelsior and Glasgow City deserve our support.
“Reaching this stage in Europe is no easy feat and I urge as many fans as possible to turn up and drive the country’s top women’s team on to what would be a remarkable triumph.
“I know what it’s like to succeed in Europe and I hope Glasgow City get to experience the same. They deserve full backing against PSG and I hope football fans turn out for them in huge numbers.’’
Tickets for Glasgow City’s game at 4.05pm on Sunday 22 March at Airdrie’s Excelsior Stadium are on sale now priced £10 for adults and £5 for under 16s at www.glasgowcityfc.co.uk.
Fans can also pay at the gate a week on Sunday.
